Corvette Racing made waves when they announced a shake up in the drivers lineup two days before racing at Mosport. Olivier Beretta discusses his shift to the #3 Corvette C6.R where he joined Johnny O’Connell. Program Manager Doug Fehan tells us the change is an effort to minimize setups on the GT Corvette, which he called “sensitive to change”.

GM Trademarks the “Stingray” Name www.corvetteblogger.com
Earlier this year in May, GM filed a trademark with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name “Stingray” for use on “motor land vehicles, namely, automobiles”. This is leading to speculation that GM may be registering the name in advanced of launching the C7 Corvette which is expected sometime between 2012-2014.

The National Corvette Museum is bringing back the $10 raffle for a 2011 Corvette convertible that will be given away this Saturday afternoon at 3:30 CT. While many of the Corvette Museum’s raffles start with a variety of price points over $100, I like the $10 raffle as it offers the ability for more people to participate. Checkout this black convertible that’s being offered and then jump over to the NCM and get your tickets today.

Mini-Supercars Photo Gallery www.automoblog.net
Sometime last year, a few Photoshop gurus got together and made some very funny “mini” versions of their favorite cars. The trend caught on, and soon lots of people were taking their favorite cars, and through the process of image manipulation, made them mini versions of themselves.

An employee of Manheim’s Dallas auto auction has been found out as the guy who took a Corvette ZR1 for a quick spin in a parking lot, with burnouts and power slides part of the non-inspiring repertoire. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t his car and he didn’t have permission and now the dealer that took possession of the ZR1 is demanding his arrest. Following is the video of said hoonage and the fallout.

This 2006 Corvette Z06 formerly owned by actor Adrien Brody is the latest celebrity-owned Corvette to cross the virtual block on eBay. Brody purchased the Corvette Z06 new and like many Corvette enthusiasts, he visited the plant in Bowling Green to witness the assembly of his car. Brody even had the opportunity to sign the engine block which he inscribed “Killer Vette” with a skull and crossbones. Now you can own his Machine Silver Z06 which is affordably priced with a “Buy-it-Now” of $46,900.

First it was the delamination issues with the early C6 Coupes that caused Corvette owners to lose their tops. Now we are hearing of issues with convertible tops as well. Owners with 2008-2009 Corvette convertible, you may want to keep your speed down as the convertible top may tear at speeds over 100 MPH. That’s according to a recent T.S.B service bulletin sent to dealers by AllDataPro.com.
