The fate of Autonet Mobile, the world's first in-car internet service provider, has been in some question with two of its largest partners, Chrysler and General Motors, in dire straits. However, the company does still has partnerships in place to have their "uconnect web" service installed at select Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Cadillac dealership locations and did sign-on VW in June.

Chrysler will begin selling a Mopar car EVDO Cellular Wi-Fi router, starting August 25th. The router by (Autonet) will cost $499 and will use EVDO & WiMAX signals and as usual, everyone gets nailed with a $35 activation fee.
