Now in its third model year, the Saturn Aura has made some changes for 2009 to help it move with the times.

Bloomberg News is reporting that General Motors is now thinking about dropping several of its brands in order to increase its chances of getting government aid.

General Motors has promised Congress that it can recreate itself as a different kind of car company — smaller, with a more cooperative relationship with its union, and a lineup of fuel-efficient cars to compete with the best of the foreign brands.

At the 2008 SEMA show, Sound Choice Audio and Performance and GM will together present their new Saturn Vue Greenline Hyline hybrid-powered compact SUV.

After its successful debut last year, the 2008 Saturn Outlook returns with a new full time all heel drive system and innovative safety options.

Details are emerging on the Opel Insignia, which is essentially the next-generation 2010 Saturn Aura for North America. The Insignia replaces the Vectra in the Opel lineup and will be the first model from GMs new Global Midsize Vehicle Architecture (formerly known as Epsilon)

The base model comes equipped with a decent 3.6-liter V6 VVT engine, capable of delivering some 270 hp and 248 lb-ft (336 Nm) of peak torque. The Saturn Outlook SE delivers 18/26 city/highway mileage measured by the EPA. The same model with an all-wheel drive is rated at 17/24 mpg.

GM's Korean division has launched a Daewoo-branded version of its Saturn Sky and Opel GT Roadster. The car was featured at the Busan International Motor Show, though details on pricing and launch are not yet available.
