You are looking at what could very well be the very first 2010 Corvette ZR1 finished in stunning Arctic White. Recent changes in production now allow all 2010 Corvette models to be available in all eight exterior colors. Although Arctic White has never been a big seller with last year's production numbers topping just 5%, it seems to flow exceptionally well and the Blue Devil's exposed LS9 cowl and blue brake calipers provide well-intended accents.
Munich Germany-based Geiger Motor Cars loves to tune Corvettes. Recently, they took delivery of a White Corvette ZR1 and worked their magic both under the hood and on the exterior and the Geiger GTS Corvette ZR1 was born. Introduced this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the newly minted Corvette ZR1 Geiger GTS now boasts 710 hp.
GM is cautiously looking to return Corvette and Cadillac brands back to European Showrooms following last year's bankruptcy of its previous importer, Dutch-based Kroymans, who went belly up during the Summer of 2009. GM had its own financial issues at the time of the Kroyman bankruptcy but a GM spokesperson speaking with Das Autohaus says the automaker is currently in contract negotiations with up to 30 dealers in Germany.
Corvette sales figures for December 2009 were released today by GM. Overall, Corvette sales seem to be holding steady with 1,033 deliveries in the last month of 2009. This marks an increase from the 952 Corvettes sold in November, but is -22% off the 1,324 Corvettes sold in December 2009. For the calendar year (Jan-Dec 09) 13,934 Corvettes were delivered which is -48.3% off the 26.917 Corvettes delivered in all of 2008.
Earlier this year, Chevrolet announced the return of the Corvette Grand Sport model. It’s a track-oriented Corvette with wider wheels and tires, special suspension tuning and unique exterior details. GM is now at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas where they announced a slew of cool accessories for the new Grand Sport.

he Corvette ZR1-based Bertone Mantide could be making a run at the Corvette ZR1's Nurburgring lap time according to Bertone's chief designer Jason Castriota. The first owner of the $2 million Mantide, British-born financier and "gentleman racer" Dan Watkins is considering making a run at the Corvette ZR1's 7:26.4 Nurburgring lap time and Castriota thinks that goal is obtainable.
This may be the first bone-stock Corvette ZR1 to run the quarter mile in the 10's. Corvette Forum's Racerns posted video and the time slip from last Monday's drag run at Maryland International Raceway. Following the bone stock quarter mile runs, the Corvette ZR1 switched to drag radials and the forum's "Ranger" dialed up an even faster run of 10.730 @ 132.46 mph. GM released the figures yesterday for November 2009: 952 Corvettes were delivered in the month, a decline of over 200 units from October 2009's 1,154. Year to year, Corvette sales are down 12% from the 1,093 deliveries in November 2008. For the calendar year (Jan-Nov 09) 12,901 Corvettes were sold compared with 25,647 sold over the same time period in 2008. That's a decline of 49.7%.

Someone sent GM's Bob Lutz a photochopped Corvette ZR1 decked out in Michigan State Police graphics and featuring the prerequisite light bar, bumper guard and awesome blacked out wheels. Without regard to notifying the PR department who were baffled by the incoming calls from new media outlets, Bob uploaded the image to GM's Fastlane Blog.
This 2009 Corvette ZR1 was imported into Australia and received a right hand drive conversion from the Corvette Clinic in Bundoora, Victoria. This is just the first of America's King of the Hill to receive the RHD treatment which allows the cars to be fully registerable in all Australian states. According to the Corvette Clinic, two more Corvette ZR1s, a Victory Red and a Cyber Gray model, will soon get the conversion as well.
