The speculation is rife that the premium British brand Land Rover may be introduced in the Indian Armed Forces shortly. Other models of Land Rovers are already being used by most countries in their defence sector.

Tata Motors, after a hiatus of eight years is likely to report a consolidated business loss. The business loss can be attributed to the poor performance by its UK subsidiary which owns iconic British brands like the Land Rover.

Tata Motors is all geared up to launch their recently acquired iconic auto brands Jaguar and Land Rover in India on June 28.

The world’s cheapest car, Tata Nano is going places. Nano will be launched in Nigeria within the next 18 months, even before it will be launched in Europe. The base model of the car will be available for NGN 360, same rate as it is available in India.

Tata Motors has completed the process of randomly selecting 1,00,000 applicants who would become the owners of Tata Nano in the first phase out of 2,06,703 applicants who had booked their Tata Nano from April 9th to April 25th.

Tata Motors reported a 3.91 per cent decline in its total sales during June 2009 at 45,399 units compared with 47,245 units the same month in 2008.
