Achieving big power with turbochargers is relatively easy, but making huge horsepower while retaining driveability is an enormous task. Peak at the dyno charts and you'll see Switzer's 997 Porsche P800 makes no sacrifices on the road to 800 HP.
I was invited to the Nelson Ledges Raceway in Ohio to test-drive SPI’s latest projects: the Porsche 997 GT2 and Nissan GT-R. Initial laps were treated as a warm-up both for the machines and me, but my pace quickened as I began to rein in all 800 hp from these retuned sports cars.

The new Switzer-modified Tial Alpha based turbo design offers a substantial increase in power AND response compared to K16s, and dramatically improved response and smoother power delivery compared to conventional turbo kits with similar power claims.
This past weekend's Milemarker-1 event in Miami was supposed to be little more than a fact-finding mission for us. We were going down to log one of our customers' P800 GTR Nissans in extreme heat, and see what we could see. It was a bit last-minute, but we went into the event without expectation ... and came home with back to back runs over 190 mph!
This is a solution that provides the most dramatic weight-reduction we could achieve, without the need to settle for the same kind of "minor annoyance" fit and finish and build-quality issues that seem to appear on even the most expensive "premium" exhausts already on the market.
Switzer's latest, and less extreme offering, is a tuning package for the Porsche 911 GT2 which puts out 800 hp on 93 Octane. Who knows what this thing is capable of on racing fuel...
