Just when you thought you'd seen the last of RENNTECH's work on the Mercedes SLR McLaren, the company is back tuning the supercar yet again, unveiling what they call the "777 Concept." The model is being introduced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of RENNTECH, and as such, it shows fantastically the magic RENNTECH-tuned models are capable of.
The aerodynamic enhancements are all back, which include a carbon fiber front apron, side skirts and rear apron; and so too are the mechanical enhancements: high performance compressors, a sports air filter and a modified engine management system. But the true appeal of the Mansory Renovatio is in its styling, which combines heavy doses of raw carbon fiber with a markedly contrasting exterior color.

McLaren has been producing the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren since 2004, but only now has supercar-tuning specialist Mansory decided to modify gull wing racer and transform it into the new ‘Renovatio’. For the latest release, not only was the car fitted with a number of custom aero pieces, the engine too has been upgraded with a new supercharger while the interior also gets a revamp.
For RENNtech’s 20th anniversary, Hartmut Feyhl who founded RENNTECH in 1989 is celebrating by releasing an extremely modified, street-legal track car limited to 20 units called the McLaren RENNTECH 777 which uses the McLaren SLR as its base and pumps out 777hp!
To kick things off this bright July morning, Mercedes has released details of a car we've reported about on several occasions, but until now, a car that's never been confirmed. That car is the Mercedes-Benz SLR, but not a typical SLR - a slightly updated, slightly more powerful and slightly sexier SLR "722 Edition."
The 5.5L V8 SLR engine with its roaring 626hp is upgraded to 700hp thanks to a supercharger and intercooler kit Mansory replaces. As a result the Mansory Renovatio SLR is two tenths faster from zero to 100km/h than the production model, while top speed climbs to 340km/h!
When Mercedes-Benz unveiled the convertible version of its very rare SLR McLaren 722 S Coupe late last month, all it had for us were ethereal renderings of what the car would look like. This week the German automaker has given unto us a gallery's worth of high-res photography showing what is likely to become the world's fastest convertible.
