Automotive News reported that 10 GM studios across the globe have submitted designs for the next generation Corvette. GM's VP of Global Design Ed Welburn says of the designs submitted, some "were absolutely phenomenal".
Here is an interesting unofficial rendering of the C7 Corvette by designer Andrei Avarvarii that takes some of the best features of the Transformer's Stingray Concept and morphs them with the best features of the C6. From the Stingray concept, we see the reworked grill area, sloping hood and high fender lines. We can't tell if this rendering has a spilt rear window, but since GM's Global Design Chief Ed Welburn says is coming, we'll patiently wait for 2012 when the real C7 is expected to arrive.
Right now the rumor is that this design is for a future Porsche Supercar. It would be built to pick up where the Carrera GT left off. This concept was designed by Emil Baddal, who is also working with Lamborghini on the successor to the LP670.
We have recently been treated to several zebra-pattern camouflage 2010 NSX spottings in June at the Nurbrugring in Germany and as a result here are some speculative renderings to surface of Honda’s new V10 powered Acura NSX replacement.
The talented yet eccentric designers at cardesign.ru have recently whipped up a whack of interesting Ferrari 4 Door Concept Photo renderings as you can see.
These rendered speculations comes at the very recent heels of the Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide and the upcoming unveiling of the Lamborghini Estoque.
With big SUVs and even smaller crossover SUVs becoming less popular as the price of gas rises (and the economy sinks,) Americans still need a vehicle with enough utility to carry their stuff around, and sedans just don’t hold enough cargo. For example, the 2009 VW Jetta TDI sedan has 16 cubic ft of truck space. Get that same car in the SportWagen edition, and the cargo capacity increases to 67 cubic ft with the rear seats folded down.
What if someday Bentley decided to make a smaller version of the Bentley Continental GT, just what Aston did with its Vantage? I think it would be good. A 'reasonable price' Bentley will attract lots of newly riches. Who knows it could be the 'Boxster' moment for Bentley? With the price range set at the Vantage rival, if you ask me, I would choose a Bentley. I also think developing this kind of car would be a good idea for Bentley rather than what they are doing now, busy making furniture.
Bentley has just unveiled its playboy uber luxury car, the Bentley Mulsanne. This new Bentley Mulsanne details hasn't been released yet, but be sure that the price will still be insane. Though the Mulsanne is not meant to be a sports car, it is still good in sportier two door coupe form. Take a look this rendering, with four door it looks elegant and classy, with two doors, it just gets better.
Concept car doesn't always means futuristic car with the ability of flying or has a shape of an egg, it is okay if the designer wants to get back to the nostalgic old time. Just as long it is cool.
