The TechArt GT Street RS crushed the previous track record at Sachsenring by over 4 seconds, handily beating the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce.
This lovely 911 was on display in the paddock at Laguna Seca. It started life as a mid 80's 3.2 Carrera and is a sort of replica of a 60's 911 ST, bodywise. It runs a 3.8 litre engine giving 425 BHP. It uses a GT3 crankshaft and titanium connecting rods and revs to 8,000 RPM.
Fresh off the unveiling of the Porsche 911 Turbo a little over a week ago, details and pictures have just been released for the new 2010 Porche 911 GT3 RS, a race-bred "purist" model that's the ultimate street legal machine. The RS (which stands for RennSport) features a modified version of the GT3's 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat six that bumps power up to 450 bhp, a 15 hp increase.
