While definitely not on the same scale at the Concorso Italiano, the 2009 La Dolce Vita Automobili had a small, but well represented collection of high quality classic exotics and modern day supercars. Lamborghini was definitely one of the standout manufacturers as a huge cache of Diablos were littered across the field along with some modern day dynamos such as a new 2010 Murcielago LP670-4 SV. Alfa Romeo and Maserati also had a commanding presence as well.
This is the Saleen 570. It has a 5.7 litre supercharged engine giving up to 700 bhp. 6 speed manual. 20 inch wheels. 14 inch front brakes. 6 piston calipers. Great stuff! It was at Pebble Beach amongst the R8 V10, Veyrons, Fisker, AMG SLR Stirling Moss, Spyker...and it really stood out. The colour just glowed in the daylight.
I got a grab shot of this as it was leaving Pebble Beach. The Devon GTX uses a Viper 8.4 litre V10, as well as the Viper platform. Final spec is yet to decided, but it's intended as a sort of a US Ferrari 599. I like the treatment of the guards (fenders).
Debuting at Pebble Beach this weekend during Monterey Car Week, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport "Sang Bleu" will be unleashed on the world. This is fitting since the original Grand Sport (chassis 001) was unveiled at the Concours d'Elegance last year. It then went to auction by Gooding & Company and sold for $2.9 million.
This is a random collection of cars I saw around Monterey during the speed week festivities. Everything from a 1928 Bentley racer to a matte black Murcielago. These were all shot either through the windscreen, in car parks or parked in the street. I can't identify the three wheeler. If you ever get the opportunity to go to an event like this, do it. You won't regret it.
The new 2010 Devon GTX sports an 8.4-liter V10 engine producing 650 horsepower, which makes it "the most powerful naturally aspirated production powertrain system on the market today." To bolster all of that brawn, the car utilizes a six-speed manual gearbox incorporating a dual mass flywheel with twin-disc clutch to transfer power to the rear wheels.
This year, at the 59th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Spyker Cars unveiled a convertible version of its widely touted second-generation sports car. There are few modern production cars that are as magnificent as the new Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder prototype, a handcrafted roadster with unparalleled workmanship and an aviation-inspired design aesthetic.
The brand new Bugatti Veyron Convertible (16.4 Grand Sport) made its earthly debut at Pebble Beach this weekend. Enjoy the photos of the new silver bullet taken on a gloomy day!
