Autocar Magazine recently put the Audi R8 V10, Porsche 911 Turbo and Nissan GT-R on the Castle Combe circuit to see which supercar could register the best lap time.
The Nissan GT-R is an amazing machine any way you look at it. After all, this is a car that can hold its own against the venerable Ferrari F430 Scuderia. With 480 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque it can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 3.2 seconds and tops out just shy of 200 mph. This all sounds really impressive until you put it side-by-side with the Bugatti Veyron.
Up until the GTR, Switzer has been known for tweaking and tuning Porsches until they leave Ferrari Enzos in their wake. But I think their work on the new Nissan GTR will give Switzer some serious nods of approval from all sides. For just under $17,000 Switzer will install their “P700” package and give your car back with 700 emissions compliant horsepower. The "P800" package is for those looking for a little more thrill...
Having seen the original Branew Nissan GT-R at the 2008 Sema Show in Las Vegas this past November, it surely didn’t take Branew long to whip up another sexy front clip available in FRP or Carbon Fiber called The Front Bumper Dynamic Version. I will make sure I take a tonne of photos of this new clip because I think it makes a very nice modification to the already sexy Nissan GT-R front end!
Vorsteiner is well known for their aero kits on BMW models, but recently they developed the Ventross body kit for the Nissan GT-R that Vivid Racing installed on a customers car.
Believe it or not, the 2009 Hennessey GTR surprisingly puts the phenomenal Nissan GT-R SpecV back in the kiddie pool. That's what Hennessey Performance does. They create street legal vehicles that annihilate the underlying base models.
Going green, or eco friendly with cars isn’t all that bad with you working with Cobb Tuning, who have modified this Nissan GT-R to run on E85 ethanol gas.
For the last six months, Steve Millen and his crew at STILLEN have been working on a new project to create a Nissan GT-R for the 2009 Targa Newfoundland Rally which runs from September 12th to 19th. The STILLEN R35 is a true rally race car with an engine capable of 620 hp and 0-60 mph times in under 3 seconds.
Some new images have just surfaced of some new Transformers action figures of the Audi R8 and surprisingly a Nissan GT-R. This brings out all the OUUUUS and AWEESSS of the kid in me. I used to own a Porsche JAZZ Autobot figure back in the day, which in the last Transformers movie they decided to make him a tuned Pontiac Solstice…
The Branew kit includes a front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear lip spoiler, a highly functional rear wing, titanium 3 pipe centered exhaust, stainless mufflers, and a wide variety of BAD ASS three-piece 23 inch forged wheels!!
Here is great video from Fifth Gear with guest 24 Year old Brazilian Bruno Senna (Ayrton Senna’s Nephew) who test drives the Nissan GT-R vs Porsche 911 Turbo.
Can you guess which car is 0.5 seconds faster around the track? UNREAL!
Nissan GT-R Spec V at the Nissan headquarters in Ginza, Tokyo Japan. This one's color is called Ultimate Opal Black, which you can see from the multitude of photos that it ranges from a spectacular purple to a brilliant fire bronze depending on the angle and the light.
MotorTrend serves up a quick video of a straight line drag race between the Corvette ZR1 (638hp), Ferrari 599 GTB (612hp), Nissan GT-R (480hp), Porsche 911 GT2 (530hp).
The prototype example of Nissan’s new GT-R Spec V has been dazzling observers of its Nurburgring testing of late, reportedly turning in lap times of an almost unbelievable 7:25. If correct, those numbers would make the V Spec substantially faster than the ultra hardcore Pagani Zonda F Clubsport, which set a production car record last October with a lap time of just under 7:28.
Both Motor Trend and Automobile magazine called the Nissan GT-R the Car of the Year. But does it deserve the title? I don't think so, and here's why...
Here are some photos taken by Dilan Bandaranayake from the Nissan GT-R Owners Track Day in Buttonwillow California. The only GT-R I recognize is the Axis Wheels Nissan GT-R which I saw at the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
In October 2008 we covered some photos which came across our desks of a Verde Ithaca Modified Nissan GT-R with a matte finish from Singapore rumored to be simply a vinyl cover job. Yesterday I found these pictures of what could be another Verde Ithaca Nissan GT-R.
This Verde Ithaca modified Nissan GT-R R35 was spotted in Signapore. The car is apparently wrapped in vinyl to achieve this look. Modifications include Bride carbon fibre seats, Zele carbon fibre body kit, 22″ Rims, HKS EVC and Mines Motor Sports Exhuast!
The Nissan GT-R is back in full force - no need to worry about your precious warranty any more. After speculation that Nissan would completely remove the warranty-voiding launch control system from their all-wheel drive twin turbo V6 monster, a recent press release explains that a new reprogramming of the GT-R’s ECU / VDC system will bring the feature back, and make it safer than ever
We suppose it was inevitable. At some point just about every kind of car is the unwilling recipient of Lambo doors, and the Nissan GT-R is no exception. German company LSD announced a new vertical door system to transform Nissan's supercar into a winged Godzilla
This special tuned GT-R will be in the TOYO booth and feature aftermarket upgrades from tuning company Bulletproof automotive. If you didn’t know Bulletproof automotive is a United States distributor of Amuse aftermarket parts. One can easily image a GT-R with the full Amuse treatment, receiving a top of the line carbon fiber body kit and sit on some serious rubber from TOYO.
Now you can get as close to the new Nissan GT-R as the enthusiasts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. You even get a sneak peak at the disguised interior.
