Automotive News reported that 10 GM studios across the globe have submitted designs for the next generation Corvette. GM's VP of Global Design Ed Welburn says of the designs submitted, some "were absolutely phenomenal".
The Mobil One 12 Hours of Sebring is huge in the world of sport car racing and GM has used the event in recent years to leverage the media and enthusiasts gathered in Central Florida to showcase new products. Just last year we witnessed the public debuts of both the 2009 ALMS GT1 Championship and Competition Sport Editions. Now we have word that a new limited edition Corvette Z06 variant will be introduced at the Sebring Corvette Corral.
The new generation Porsche Cayenne will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2. Each model in the Cayenne range is a trend-setter in terms of efficiency and output and, compared with the former models, offers an increase in fuel economy of up to 23 per cent with more performance.
Here is an interesting unofficial rendering of the C7 Corvette by designer Andrei Avarvarii that takes some of the best features of the Transformer's Stingray Concept and morphs them with the best features of the C6. From the Stingray concept, we see the reworked grill area, sloping hood and high fender lines. We can't tell if this rendering has a spilt rear window, but since GM's Global Design Chief Ed Welburn says is coming, we'll patiently wait for 2012 when the real C7 is expected to arrive.

Dorel Industries today announced plans to build a Design and Development Competency Center at its Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG) USA car seat manufacturing facility in Columbus, Indiana. The project is the first major milestone in Dorel’s car seat product capital investment program and involves a total investment of US$20.8 million through 2013.
