Every now and then the motherload of supercar photos get released. The exotic car gods have just showered us with tons of images of the new 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder. This version sports 40 horsepower more than its predecessor with a 5.2-liter V10 engine packing 552 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque.
Could it be, can it be, is this the new rumored Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2? It definitely looks like some official pictures of this new bull have been unleashed on the web. That said, no official specs or details are known at this point but Lamborghini's naming convention takes away the guess work. We already know that the Gallardo is outfitted with a V10 engine so we can naturally assume that this is a 550 horsepower rear wheel drive vehicle.
Checkout another Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 to surface, this one in LAS VEGAS sporting a stealthy Flatt (Matte) Black paint job.
The LP560-4 sports a 5.2 liter V10 engine that produces 552 horsepower does 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 201mph and costs a mere $210,000.
Reiter Engineering has just updated the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 to meet 2010 FIA specifications in order to compete in the GT3 class of racing. Reiter has made road going versions of the Gallardo in the past, so we'll wait patiently for a subsequent announcement, or lack there of, for a street machine. Audi has just announced 2010 model year pricing for their Audi R8 sports cars, some of which are actually starting to arrive at dealers right now. The highly anticipated 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro model has a base price of $146,000 and comes with a manual transmission. The R-tronic version with paddle-shifters and an automatic gearbox runs $155,100.
The new model replaces the former Gallardo Coupe, which was first introduced to the market in 2003. The new car’s name,the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, reflects the uprated power of 560 PS, together with reference to the Lamborghini feature of permanent four-wheel drive.
