After weeks of leaks, Ford has finally delivered full details and press photos of the 2011 Mustang GT. The new 5.0-liter V8 is capable of 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque and benefits from some fuel economy improvement.
The Detroit auto show has come and gone, and has left the automotive industry with a little more to chew over. As a final wrap-up to quite possibly the most important auto show in America, we chose 10 cars that summed up the best of the show.
Fact: Americans love their cars. We have stories about them, songs about them, and Detroit is even called the “Motor City”! So imagine cruising down the highway behind the wheel of a custom ride with the music blasting and not a care in the world; now this is an image that would make almost any American smile.

DETROIT - Bob Carter, the chief of Toyota's Lexus division, stepped forward at the Detroit auto show this week to introduce the company's first fire-breather - a
500-horsepower V-10 sports car, the LF-A.
At this year’s Detroit Auto Show, VW showed this stunning little roadster, dubbed the BlueSport. It’s got all the stuff to make a gearhead’s heart flutter: 180HP engine, 6.6 seconds zero to 100 km/h, mid-engine/rear drive top speed is around 140, drop top, a 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission, the usual. But here’s the kicker: the BlueSport gets 57 miles to the gallon, because it’s got a diesel engine.
Audi just introduced their highly anticipated update to their flagship sports car, the Audi R8. The new Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI comes equipped with a 5.2L V10 producing 525 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque - enough to launch this car from 0-60 in a mere 3.9 seconds.
Why it’s one of our most significant: The front of this car has a giant grin on it for a reason: it’s proud to be a big, in-your-face American muscle sedan. The exterior is what the upcoming MKS could have looked like had Peter Horbury taken charge of Lincoln design earlier, and the inside is pure understated elegance.
