That's why it fetched $150,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Las Vegas.
Insiders at Audi have confirmed production of the R8 Convertible, probably to be released in 2011. The R8 Cabriolet (hopefully called a Spyder instead,) will most likely forgo the retractable hardtop, and instead use a fabric roof. We assume this because of the limited space in the rear from the R8’s mid-mounted engine, and from Audi’s previous use of fabric tops.
Recent Porsche Panamera headlines strongly suggest that Porsche will be producing a 2 door, 4 seat Panamera Convertivle! “We have a broad range of 14 derivatives of the 911 that are very successful,” development chief Wolfgang Duerheimer told Automobilwoche.

Any day that you’re invited to drive a new Ferrari is a good day. Sadly, this particular Saturday morning was cold and rainy - a general recipe for miserable. The 1964 Corvette Sting Ray has always been the step-child of the mid-year C2 Corvette generation. Combine that fact with a non-original motor and a color combination that wasn't the most popular and you have all the makings of a lackluster auction. However, this is Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas and that can only mean that this recently restored 1964 Saddle Tan Corvette performed well on the auction block.
