The BMW M6 has got some hefty competition coming its way. Checkout these recently released amazing spy photos of a prototype Audi RS5 undergoing testing at the Nurburgring. While the Audi S5 really just an Audi A5 on steroids, the RS5 is the S5 on steroids.
The RS5 will debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September this year. We are pretty sure though that it will go on sale in 2010 in Europe. Stay tuned to Carzi for regular updates. We know that you will.
The new Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet has just made its debut at the 2009 New York Auto Show. Both models sport a new lightweight fabric top that opens in 15 seconds.
Remember the Audi Nuvolari show car? That 2003 concept was design chief Walter de'Silva's first project at Audi; as we now see, it was also a faithful predictor of the new Audi A5, the brand's first full-size coupe since the Audi Coupe Quattro disappeared from the American market in the early 1990s.
It's no replacement for the TT, but the Audi A5 is designed to tackle the exact same segment as the BMW 3-Series Coupe. Based on these initial pictures, it's a little hard to say how it will do.
Audi plans to build its upcoming Audi A5 convertibles at its own factory in Neckarsulm, Germany. The new soft-top A5, positioned as a lower-premium class vehicle targeting Mercedes-Benz CLK class buyers, will replace the current A4 cabriolet, which will be built only in sedan and station wagon models.
