German modification company Senner Tuning just unveiled a new appearance package for the Audi A5. The kit, which is their fourth package for the A5, includes a carbon fiber front spoiler, carbon fiber side mirror housings, carbon fiber rear bumper, and rear spoiler. Testing out their aluminum Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology used on the R8, TT, and A8, Audi applied the lightweight construction method to a prototype A5 coupe. The lightweight A5 is 242 pounds lighter than its steel-bodied brother, which gives it a power-to-weight ratio of 159-hp per ton, only 11 hp per ton shy of the more powerful 3.2-liter V6 A5.

That 2003 concept was design chief Walter de'Silva's first project at Audi; as we now see, it was also a faithful predictor of the new Audi A5, the brand's first full-size coupe since the Audi Coupe Quattro disappeared from the American market in the early 1990s.
The BMW M6 has got some hefty competition coming its way. Checkout these recently released amazing spy photos of a prototype Audi RS5 undergoing testing at the Nurburgring. While the Audi S5 really just an Audi A5 on steroids, the RS5 is the S5 on steroids.

Audi first unveiled the RS5 in February at the Geneva Auto Show. It was first believed, unfortunately, the car wouldn’t make its way to the United States. Presently, there is some buzz at the New York Auto Show that Audi will finally give in and bring the RS5 to the United States; which would make the Audi the first RS car to make its way across the pond. Keep your fingers crossed that we’ll see a US arrival for the Audi RS5 in the summer of 2011.

Finally, we get some good info and images of the new A5 Sportback, set to be released this September as a 2010 model in Europe. We likely won’t be getting it here in the States, unless Audi sees some demand for such a vehicle. The A5 Sportback, which you first saw in the A5 Sportback Spy Pictures article, is made to be a combination of a coupe, sedan, and wagon. It attempts to take the benefits from each and combine it into one great car, which will compete directly with the BMW 5-Series GT.

Again the well-known 3.0 TDI engine from Audi managed to obtain an important award, this time the Challenge Bibendum award, a challenge created by Michelin in 1998 for the promotion of sustainable road mobility. The Audi A5 3.0 TDI driven by Christoph Klapper and Bernhard Wolfsberge, the official car of Audi AG managed to take the lead in front of the Renault Logan Eco2 and also the VW Jetta Clean TDI who managed to finish the challenge on the 3rd place.
