As Spyker and General Motors get ever closer to finalizing the Saab deal, Spyker management is getting ever closer to finalizing Saab’s future product plans. The big news: Saab lovers can expect an all-new lineup when the reorganized company begins selling vehicles again later this year.

The face of the all new 9-5 is defined by a deep grille flanked with curving, ice-block headlamp units. The entire glasshouse is presented as a ‘wraparound’ mono graphic, the disguised windshield and side pillars giving the cabin Saab’s signature cockpit look.

A favorite genre of many auto fiends is the “sleeper” - a car that looks like grandma’s Mercury but goes like stink. In this day and age of flashy, showy performance - with all the standard body kits, huge spoilers and obnoxious red badging automakers seem to believe belong on performance cars, the sleeper is a dying breed.

We may be seeing the first signs of a Saab resurgence. The Swedish brand had largely been ignored under GM control, and now that the reigns of the company will soon pass to exclusive sports car manufacturer Koenigsegg, the brand may get the attention it deserves.
