Capping off a horrendous past several months, Mercedes-Benz USA continued their year-end downward spiral in December, with sales at MBUSA totaling 18,507 new units – a decrease of 32.1 percent when compared to December of 2007. As a result, Mercedes-Benz USA's 2008 sales amounted to a grand total of 225,128 new units – a decrease of 11.2 percent when compared to the prior year.

The Swedish car manufacturer, Volvo, is all set to unveil an accident-proof car. The introduction of this new technology would be first discovered in Volvo S60 with automatic brakes, which is to make its debut in the Detroit Motor Show next month. This crash-proof car will be introduced with an advanced cruise control system and a radar fitted in the car's grille.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, a leading car manufacturer, will increase the prices of its highly running car models, Innova and Corolla Altis. The price of Innova is likely to increase in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 and the price of Corolla Altis will be hiked in the range of Rs 16,000 to Rs 25,000. The increased prices would be effective from 1st January 2009.
